The blog has been quiet! But we have a good reason: we were sailing! Patrick took 2 months paternity leave and we sailed from Kiel through the southern islands of Denmark and back via Rostock. We have been back in Berlin for a week now and although I have plenty to post about the trip, it is going to take time I do not have to write it all out. So instead I will give you a picture overview of our summer here, tell you it was mostly great and that sailing with a 2.5 year old is fantastic, sailing with a 4 – 6 month old less so. Most importantly though I can see us living on a boat in a few years. Check back in the coming weeks for more details! Until then: PEEKTURES!
Sunset in Denmark.
Sailing with daddy is AWESOME.
A downside to sailing with your furbaby. It doesn’t matter if the outboard motor is acting up. Mango needs to go!
A benefit is you have a devoted guard dog. Sometimes too devoted. Mango attacks wasps and bees. Again that fine line between bravery and stupidity.
Mango and Falcor.
Beach in Southern Denmark.
Another sunset. Although we enjoyed all of them, only one was done so without the bambinos. So less romantic drinks on deck and more “Oh isn’t that lovely, STOP squeezing your brother!”
One side of the fjord is Germany, the other Denmark. On the way to Flensburg to pick up Patrick’s sister and nephew for a week of sailing.
I just think this is adorable. That is why this shot is in here.
Sometimes it’s easier to tell who has kids on board than others. Falcor covered in our wash.
Mango when we are anchored.
Mango at sea!
Birthday with visitors in Rostock!
On the entire trip we visited 3 harbours for a total of 5 nights.
Our dinghy is hardcore!
And we learned a lesson: If the wind blows your stroller off the wharf and you are unable to retrieve it, you need to go shopping immediately and replace it. You DO need it for the next 4 weeks.
